Yunusa Dan KARAMI

“For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.” Matthew 25:14-17
Opportunities abound everywhere but mankind is so blind that they can’t see it. Inside every challenge lies a hidden opportunity, but it takes the wisdom of God to see it. In the parable of the talents in Luke 19:11-27, Jesus made it clear that He expects his followers to be faithful stewards of the resources that He has put at their disposal. That means that a good stewardship includes wise investment and not wrong or corruptible move to enrich one’s self.
Isaac came on the limelight and Bible says the philistines envied him and the same Bible says we brethren of Isaac are children of promise. This means that every believer is not to be pitied but to be envied. Friends, genuine investment is one of the assets we need to outshine our peers in the field of life.
What is Investment
It is an act of allocating resources like money, assets, etc. (gotten from a genuine means) with the hope of making income or profit. Proverbs 21:20 says ‘’There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up’’. This means that every good and Godly investor always has what the world needs irrespective of his location.
What to investment.
1. Knowledge:
Investing in knowledge opens doors for enviable opportunities. Through God's words we gain an understanding that God is the one who gives the gift of knowledge- that is an understanding or awareness of something. The Lord however, grants knowledge to those who have an honest relationship with him. (Proverbs 1:7)
2. Saving for the future
Saving is biblical and it demonstrates that we value what God has graciously given to us. It is a means of leaving an inheritance for our children, heirs, wards etc. (Proverb 13:22)
Reasons for investment
1. Wealth creation
2. Retirement
